Tripura CM directs DGP to review UAPA case against journalists and lawyers
Agartala: Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb has directed Director General of Police VS Yadav to review the UAPA case against journalists and lawyers.
DGP Yadav directed the ADG Crime Branch to review.
An attempt was made a few days ago to disrupt the law and order situation in the state by posting fake photos and videos of the burning mosques in Tripura on social media.
In order to control this and maintain communal harmony in the state, Tripura police filed a case against 102 persons under UAPA section. Among them are journalists and lawyers. But after the Chief Minister directed to review these cases, the Tripura Police started reviewing the matter.
