Rain triggered by Jawad cripples life

Agartala: Life was crippled after rain lashed out at several parts of Tripura including Agartala city triggered by cyclone Jawad. Light to moderate rainfall has been reported across the state and some parts have received heavy rains. People of the state woke up to a rain soaked morning with fewer crowds in the city areas. The vehicular activities also remained less than usual.  

Even as cyclone Jawad has weakened further into a depression, the rains – moderate to heavy - continue to lash out in parts of the State including Agartala since Monday. Light rainfall gradually turned into moderate rainfall by Monday afternoon.

In a tweet, India Meteorological Department wrote, "The WML (remnant of Cyclonic Storm ‘JAWAD’) over northwest Bay of Bengal and adjoining West Bengal­-Bangladesh coasts has weakened into a Low Pressure Area over the same region at 0830 hrs IST of today, the 06th December 2021".
According to IMD, 24.4 mm rainfall was recorded for the period from 8.30 am on Sunday to 5.30am on Monday. The lowest temperature recorded in Agartala this morning was 20 deg Celsius. Highest temperature during the day is expected to be around 23 deg Celsius.

The Lives of people belonging to each and every class was more or less affected by the odd-weather drizzle and in the later parts of the day city areas remained deserted.
