Former CM interacts with students and beneficiaries in Kamalpur

Agartala: Former Chief Minister and MLA Biplab Kumar Deb attended an interaction programme with the students of Kamalpur Government College at Bimal Singh Conference Hall yesterday. Education Minister Ratan Lal Nath, Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs Minister Manoj Kanti Deb, Dhalai District Magistrate & Collector Govekar Mayur Ratilal, Director of Higher Education department Nripendra Chandra Sharma and Principal of the College Dr. Dipankar Chakraborty were present during the interaction programme. Teachers and students of the College joined the programme. Former Chief Minister and MLA Biplab Kumar Deb enlightened the students about Mission Vidyajyoti. He said, the present government has taken various initiatives for expansion of quality education in the state. Students are reaping its benefits. Apart from that, the state government has taken various steps for welfare of the students. He said, the government has taken distinctive planning to empower women. The government’s goal is to make women self-reliant.

Education Minister Ratan Lal Nath said, the present government has taken various initiatives to improve the quality and infrastructure of education in the state. He enlightened the students about various education related programmes taken up by the government. Later, Former Chief Minister, Education Minister along with Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs Minister visited Robust Para Anganwadi Centre and have interacted with children and Anganwadi workers. Then, they visited Robust Club as well.

The Ministers then attended an interaction programme with the beneficiaries of Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana-Gramin and PMKISAN schemes organized yesterday at Kamalpur Town Hall. Former Chief Minister and MLA Biplab Kumar Deb directly interacted with the beneficiaries present in the programme there. He said, only after the present state government took over, was the scheme Atal Jaldhara Mission launched to provide drinking water connection to each and every household in the state. Later, this scheme was converged with a central scheme Jal Jeevan Mission in 2019. He said, the present government’s ultimate goal is improving quality of living of people living in remote areas of the state and the government is working on reaching this goal. The initiative of the present state government to make the state self-reliant has begun to show desired results. Many have already become self-dependent through making different bamboo products. The Queen Pineapple produced in the state is being exported abroad. Paddy is being procured from farmers at MSP. Education Minister and Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs Minister also spoke on the occasion about different developmental programmes of the state government. Chairperson of Kamalpur Nagar Panchayat was also present in the programme.
