Agaratla: An interaction programme was organized with the beneficiaries of PMKISAN and Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana-Gramin at Khowai Town Hall today. Former Chief Minister and MLA Biplab Kumar Deb, Sabhadhipati of Khowai Zilla Parishad Joydeb Debbarma, Chief Whip of Legislative Assembly Kalyani Roy, MLA Pinaki Das Choudhury, Secretary of Tripura Sports Council Amit Rakshit, Sahakari Sabhadhipati of the Zilla Parishad Harisankar Pal, Member of the Zilla Parishad Subrata Majumdar, Khowai District Magistrate & Collector L. T. Darlong, Director of Agriculture & Farmers’ Welfare department Navojit Chakma and SDM Ashit Kumar Das were present during the interaction programme. The programme was presided over by Sabhadhipati of Khowai Zilla Parishad Joydeb Debbarma and welcome speech was delivered by Khowai District Magistrate & Collector L. T. Darlong. Prior to the programme, the former Chief Minister attended birthday celebration of Sayan Tanti and Sadh Bhakhan ceremony of Suari Debbarma as a part of POSHAN Abhiyan at Bharat Tirtha Anganwadi Centre in Bagan Panchayat of Khowai block.
Former Chief Minister and MLA Biplab Kumar Deb in the interaction programme at Khowai Town Hall said, the people of the state are familiar with the cultural heritage of Khowai city. Before 2018, there was an atmosphere of fear in the entire Khowai sub-division. After the present government took over, it prioritized the restoration of the cultural heritage of Khowai. He said, there are many tea garden workers in Khowai subdivision. Mukhyamantri Cha Shramik Kalyan Prakalp has been launched in the state to improve the socio-economic status of tea garden workers. 100 crore rupees will be invested for this purpose. Under this scheme, the tea garden workers will get land ownership as well as permanent housing, facilities of drinking water, health insurance and education. Tea garden workers were once deprived of all these opportunities. Tea garden workers were once deprived of all these opportunities. He said, various projects of the central and the state governments are being implemented for the overall development of the state. The marginal people of Khowai subdivision are also benefiting from the implementation of different schemes such as PMAY-G, PMKISAN, Jal Jeevan Mission, paddy procurement from farmers at MSP, Mission Vidyajyoti, construction of National Highways and Pavered Block roads.
The former Chief Minister said, the goal of the government is to build a developed and self-reliant Tripura. Social pension of 2 thousand rupees will be given before this Durga Puja. Chief Whip of Legislative Assembly Kalyani Roy and MLA Pinaki Das Choudhury also spoke on the occasion. The Former Chief Minister later also visited houses of beneficiaries Ramkumar Munda, Sarathi Munda and Sankar Munda that are under construction in Bagan Panchayat under Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana-Gramin.
