Eviction drive commences for road construction from siddhi ashram to agartala railway station.

The state government's Public Works Department has begun the construction of a wide road from Siddhi Ashram in the capital to Agartala Railway Station. Land on both sides of the road has been identified for the construction. Compensation was also provided to those affected by the acquisition of the identified land. Despite this, the locals requested some additional time to vacate the land for the road. The administration granted them this time. However, even after this extension, the concerned individuals did not vacate the land for the construction. The administration issued multiple notices, but the individuals still did not vacate the land. Consequently, on Friday morning, the Sadar Sub-Division Administration commenced an eviction drive in the concerned area. The Agartala Municipal Corporation extended its support to the sub-division administration in this operation. Regarding this eviction drive, the Commissioner of Agartala Municipal Corporation, Shailesh Kumar Yadav, provided this information.

Meanwhile, some discontent was observed among the locals due to this eviction drive. To keep the situation under control, an adequate number of security personnel were deployed in the concerned area.
