On Tuesday, during the BRICS Summit in South Africa, Prime Minister Narendra Modi confidently stated that India will become a driving force for global development in the upcoming years. Speaking at the BRICS Business Forum, Prime Minister Modi asserted, "India has pledged to establish itself as a developed nation by the year 2047." He further added that India has achieved significant progress in economic cooperation among the member countries of the BRICS group.
Prime Minister Modi's participation in the BRICS Summit highlights India's commitment to fostering economic collaboration among member nations, particularly in the context of global challenges such as the COVID-19 pandemic and other issues.
Discussing India's economic growth, Prime Minister Modi stated, "Even amidst the volatile global economic situation, India is currently one of the fastest-growing economies in the world. India is set to transform itself into a five trillion-dollar economy soon. India will be the engine of global growth." He attributed this growth to India's ability to leverage challenges and barriers to economic development.
Furthermore, he mentioned, "In the past few years, we have brought about various changes in the 'Ease of Doing Business' and steadily improved the business environment in India. We have reduced red tape and enhanced the investor sentiment. The rise in FDI has instilled great confidence in the investment community. We have prioritized public service and good governance."
