National Lok Adalat in Tripura to Handle Thousands of Cases on September 9th.

On the upcoming September 9th, Saturday, the third National Lok Adalat of the year will be held in the state. In addition to the Tripura High Court, all district and sub-divisional courts in the state will also convene on this government holiday. Approximately 15,271 cases are expected to be disposed of across a total of 71 benches in this Lok Adalat. Among these, there are around 7,467 cases related to previous disputes, including an estimated 6,846 cases concerning bank loan repayments and 621 cases related to unpaid bills from the telecommunications company. Furthermore, an estimated 7,804 cases will be taken up for disposal in the subordinate courts, including cases related to motor accidents, consumer court matters, non-bailable offenses, matrimonial disputes, bounced check cases under the Negotiable Instruments Act, other civil cases, and employment-related cases. A special bench will be set up at the National Lok Adalat dedicated to Tripura, where approximately 65 cases will be disposed of. The Tripura State Legal Services Authority Secretary, Subhasish Datta Purakayastha, has requested everyone involved to take advantage of the opportunity for swift and cost-free legal resolution. The ADR center (Alternative Dispute Resolution) will be available at the court premises to assist citizens.
A maximum of 16 benches will sit in the Agartala court premises. Notices have already been given to both parties in the case. There will be a help desk in the court premises to help the citizens. Paralegal volunteers will assist people who have been served with notices at the court premises.
