Modi government promotes public Engagement and selfie contest across various Delhi locations for Independence day celebration

Tuesday is the 76th Independence Day of India. The entire country is gearing up to celebrate the anniversary of independence. The biggest event on the occasion of Independence Day is at the Red Fort in Delhi. Like every year, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will hoist the national flag on the occasion of Independence Day. He will address the nation. However, from the very beginning, the Modi government has emphasized public participation rather than confining the Independence Day celebrations to mere government events. This year's Independence Day is no exception. From the guest list of the program to the selfie contest, common people are being involved in this event in various ways. One of the attractions of this Independence Day is the selfie contest organized by the government. The central government has set up 12 'selfie points' at 12 places in Delhi regarding various projects and initiatives of the Modi government. Common people can take selfies at these selfie points and participate in the Independence Day celebrations. An online selfie contest has been organized by the Ministry of Defense on the government's MyGov portal. From August 15 to 20, photos taken at selfie points can be posted on this portal. A total of 12 people will be declared winners by selecting one selfie taken at each selfie point. The winners will get a cash prize of Rs 10,000 each. The government has also launched the 'Har Ghar Tiranga' campaign on the occasion of Independence Day. The Prime Minister called upon the countrymen to participate in this campaign from August 13 to 15. As part of this campaign, Prime Minister Modi has already replaced his profile picture on his social media handles with a picture of the Indian national flag. He requested every citizen of the said "This unique effort will deepen the bond between our beloved country and us."
